Special Permit Nuclear Medicine Trainee

A "Special Permit Nuclear Medicine Trainee" is defined as a licensed radiographer who has otherwise complied with all of the requirements to become a Nuclear Medicine Technologist and is preparing to take the examination in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Term

  • The permit shall be granted once per applicant, for a period not to exceed one year. The applicant will be required to take the next scheduled exam. The license will stay in effect until the results of the exam are known. Pending successful completion of the State examination, the permitee must be under the direct supervision of a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

Temporary Radiologic Technologist

A temporary license may be granted to a person who has a full application for licensure pending and has demonstrated "special circumstances" pursuant to the boards rules.

A temporary license shall be issued only once and shall expire either when the results of the exmination are submitted to the board or 90 days following the issuance of the license.

A temporary license may be renewed only once with board approval.

(This application is for graduating students who have not passed the exam yet)

Requirements

An applicant for a temporary license must make a separate application for each hiring office or institution at which he or she is to be employed; however, only one license fee is required.

To upgrade from a Temporary to a Permanent License, please submit the following:

  • Documented proof of valid ARRT or NMTCB national certification (copy of wallet card accepted).

 

Trainee Radiographer

"Trainee Radiographer" is defined as an individual who applies ionizing radiation to a human being under the supervision of a licensed practitioner in an office setting and is concurrently obtaining the education and clinical training required to apply for the limited license radiographer license pursuant to Chapter 7 of the board's rules.

Please review the Board's rules, Chapter 6, for requirements that must be satisfied prior to licensure.

  • Individuals may train for not less than 6 consecutive months nor more than 12 consecutive months
