The Board of Licensure of Foresters was established to protect the public from unqualified practitioners through the regulation of the practice of forestry in the State of Maine and to insure proper management of forest resources in the State.
The primary responsibility of the Board is to insure the competency of foresters through examination; to issue licenses to those qualified to hold the title of Forester; to investigate complaints of noncompliance with or violations of the law and board rules.
Effective March 1, 2019, the Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR) will no longer issue paper license verifications. License verifications are available, free of charge, on OPOR’s official database, https://www.pfr.maine.gov/ALMSOnline/ALMSQuery/Welcome.aspx?board=4250. This database is updated in real time as changes occur. The Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation considers this information to be a secure, primary source for license verification.
Future correspondence from the Board of Licensure of Foresters will be sent to you by email, so please be sure to keep your contact information current. Follow this link to verify your contact information.
