Fourth Class Stationary Steam Engineer

A Fourth Class Stationary Steam Engineer may have charge of a plant of not more than 50,000 #/HR or operate or supervise a plant up to the capacity of the license of the engineer in charge of the plant in which the licensee is employed.

Requirements

Applicants must have one year operating experience as a holder of a high pressure boiler operator license to qualify to sit for the examination. Applicants who hold a valid Coast Guard license qualify for a Maine license in no higher grade than that which they hold without taking an examination.

This license is renewed every three years based on first licensure date

  • Any person who submits an application for renewal more than 90 days after the expiration date but not more than 2 years may reinstate by paying the $150 license fee and $100 penalty fee.

  • Any person who submits an application for renewal more than 2 years after the expiration date shall be subject to all requirements governing new applicants.
