Right Whale Aggregation Informational Meeting to be Held Wednesday, December 10, 2025 The Department will be holding an informational meeting regarding the Right Whale aggregation that occurred off Jeffreys Ledge in January of 2025 on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025, at 6:00 PM. This meeting is being held at the request of the Lobster Zone G Subcommittee, to provide an opportunity for industry members to work with the Department on a plan in the event another aggregation occurs this winter.

QYA Air Route Surveillance Radar Site Demolition Activities

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) proposes the demolition of five accessory buildings associated with the QYA Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR) site located near 64 Base Road in Machiasport, ME. This action is subject to review for consistency with the enforceable policies of Maine Coastal Program under 15 CFR 930, subpart C.

Maine Office of Community Affairs Announces Grants for Resilience and Hazard Mitigation Projects in Coastal Communities

The following press release is being issued on behalf of the Maine Office of Community Affairs.

Augusta – The Maine Office of Community Affairs’ Maine Coastal Program (MCP) and Municipal Planning Assistance Program (MPAP) announced today approximately $550,000 to support local or regional planning projects that prepare coastal communities and critical public infrastructure for future hazards and storms and to advance community resilience planning.
