South Harpswell - The Maine Marine Patrol is investigating a recreational boating fatality that occurred yesterday at approximately 7:50 p.m. According to Marine Patrol reports, Samuel Sharpe, 23, of Harpswell fell from a 19-foot center console boat while operating it near South Harpswell. Based on observations of his injuries, Sharpe appeared to have been struck by the boat's propeller.

An overboard discharge (OBD) is the discharge of wastewater from residential, commercial, and publicly owned facilities to Maine's streams, rivers, lakes, and the ocean. Commercial and residential discharges of sanitary waste have been regulated since the mid-1970's when most direct discharges of untreated waste were banned. Between 1974 and 1987 most of the "straight pipes" were connected to publicly owned treatment works or replaced with standard septic systems.
Chebeague Island - The Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body of an unidentified male from Casco Bay today at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Marine Patrol was notified by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 9:18 a.m. this morning of a body in the water approximately 100 yards from the end of Indian Point Road on Chebeague Island.
