Dear License Holder,
A recent amendment to DMR’s Chapter 8 (Landings Program) regulations modified the reporting requirements of the lobster fishery to require those harvesters holding a commercial lobster license to submit monthly trip-level catch reports during the months you hold an active lobster license starting January 1, 2023. Reporting must be done using an approved electronic reporting method. Reports for the prior month are due by the 10th of the following month.
Electronic reporting can be completed through either the VESL reporting application available for iOS and Android devices or Maine LEEDS. If you hold a federal permit and are already required to submit vessel trip reports, you can use the VESL reporting application or can continue to report using Fish Online or eTrips to fulfill your state and federal reporting obligations.
