We welcome requests to use ME DMR survey data in research projects. However, please keep in mind that data from fishery dependent surveys (ex. Lobster Sea Sampling) may contain confidential information, and all surveys require a thorough understanding of data collection to properly interpret results. Therefore, our survey biologists are a resource to be used beyond the initial data request of any survey data.
If you are interested in using data or requesting specimens from any of the DMR Lobster Surveys listed below, please complete this Data & Specimen Request. Survey biologists will reach out to you after submission for more information before completing the request.
For projects in the planning or grant proposal writing stage that require a letter of support or DMR collaboration, please complete this Letter of Support Request. Submitting this form does not guarantee that a letter will be provided. We kindly ask that all requests be made at least three weeks before the deadline to allow sufficient time for follow‑up and a final decision.
As the ME/NH inshore trawl survey also collects lobster data, information on Inshore Trawl Survey requests for data or specimens are at the Maine/New Hampshire inshore trawl survey page.
