Maine Marine Patrol to Continue Search for Missing Steuben Lobsterman

Steuben - The Maine Marine Patrol will continue to search today for Tylar Michaud, 18 of Steuben, a commercial lobsterman who was reported missing Friday night at 5pm after failing to return from a day of hauling and setting his traps near Petit Manan Point.

The search is focusing on the waters and shoreline near Petit Manan Point where Michaud’s unoccupied boat was found Friday evening by a local fisherman.

Marine Patrol joined the US Coast Guard along with the Maine Army National Guard, the Maine Forest Service and many local fishermen and community members Friday night, searching until dark.

The search continued Saturday until limited visibility due to fog hampered efforts.

Today’s search will continue to focus on the waters near Petit Manan Point and will involve Marine Patrol boats as well as aerial assets from the Marine Patrol, Army National Guard and Maine Forest Service.
