Health Inspection Program

The Health Inspection Program provides licensing and inspection services to businesses to protect public health. These businesses include but are not limited to restaurants, lodging, campgrounds, youth camps, public swimming pools and spas, tattooists, micropigmentation, body piercing, electrolysists, school cafeterias, and mass gatherings.

Community Care Program

The Division of Population Health Equity operates the Community Care Program to help connect Maine people with health programs, social services, and other resources.

The program can provide anyone with access a variety of supports, including:

Maine CDC Division of Population Health (DPHE)

Working to advance health equity by illuminating and addressing underlying conditions and systems that limit the full potential of all Maine people to lead healthy, safe, and opportunity-rich lives.

DPHE collaborates with Maine CDC programs and partners with community leaders to ensure public health initiatives are informed by and reflect the needs of the people we serve. DPHE focuses on promoting and protecting the health of Maine people and the communities where they live, learn, work, and play.

Rural Health and Primary Care

Mission and Priorities

The Rural Health and Primary Care Program's mission is to promote and assure access to quality health care for Maine's residents living in rural and medically underserved areas. The Program accomplishes this through the administration of federal grants by dedicated program staff.

The Program's priorities provide a bridge between the mission and activities to fulfill it.
