Program Enrollment

Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program Enrollment

The Vaccines for Children Program provides federally purchased vaccines supplied by the Maine Immunization Program (MIP) at no cost to parents/guardians or providers. Providers may charge a minimal administration fee; however, no child may be denied vaccination due to an inability to pay.

All recommended childhood vaccines are available through this program.

Who is eligible?

Maine is a universal vaccine state. This means that all children 18 years of age and younger are eligible to receive vaccines supplied by the Maine Immunization Program – except for privately insured children who are not Maine residents.

Becoming a VFC Provider

If you are interested in enrolling as a VFC provider, please email ImmunizeME.DHHS@maine.gov. After contacting the program, VFC staff will reach out to guide you through the enrollment process and provide the required forms and information packet.

Enrollment Process

Once your completed paperwork has been received, VFC program staff will schedule an initial virtual site visit with your office. This visit ensures that your staff are familiar with the VFC Program requirements, have appropriate vaccine storage and handling resources, and understand documentation procedures.

Following the visit, your office will receive access to Maine's Immunization Information System (ImmPact IIS) and be scheduled for a virtual training session on how to use the system.

All enrollment forms and training sessions must be completed before vaccine orders can be placed.

Adult Vaccine Program Enrollment

Enrollment for the Adult Vaccine Program follows the same process as the VFC Program. If your site is already enrolled as a VFC provider, you only need to complete and submit a short enrollment form to participate in the adult program.

Who is eligible?

The Adult Vaccine Program provides state supplied vaccine for:

  • Adults 19 years of age and older, and
  • Underinsured or uninsured

For more information or to request the enrollment form, please email: ImmunizeME.DHHS@maine.gov
