Maine Data Reports by County

Using syndromic surveillance data, the Maine CDC has created monthly reports for each county in the state. These reports provide statistics on suicide ideation and attempts from the last six months. To have these reports sent to your email monthly, fill out this survey.

Suicide Data Dashboards

These two dashboards share suicide-related data with partners to use in their planning, prevention, and intervention efforts. Below is a dashboard with up-to-date death data by county, gender, and age from death certificates. The most recent year of data included in this dashboard is provisional. It will be updated annually.

    Death Data

The following Dashboard is the result of a collaboration between Maine CDC and the federal CDC on a syndromic surveillance program for non-fatal suicidal events. Syndromic surveillance involves real-time tracking of emergency department visits where suicidal behavior was a relevant factor from all 33 of Maine's non-VA hospitals. ED visits that involve suicide attempts, suicidal ideation, and intentional overdoses are tracked. The goal of syndromic surveillance is to increase the timeliness of the surveillance of nonfatal suicide-related outcomes and respond to changing patterns in suicidal behavior. This dashboard is updated quarterly.
