National Health Survey Underway
The Maine CDC is currently participating in a national BRFSS survey. Interviews in Maine are conducted by The Logit Group.
Phone numbers are randomly chosen for this voluntary survey. If you do not wish to participate, you must tell the interviewer you are making a refusal to take the survey and ask to have your number taken off the call list. If you do not, you will likely receive more than one call from the surveyors.
For other Maine specific information contact Paul Josephson, BRFSS Coordinator, by phone 207-287-1420 or by email at Paul.R.Josephson@maine.gov .
BRFSS is the world's largest, on-going telephone health survey system, tracking health conditions and risk behaviors throughout the United States and its territories.
Since 1987 Maine BRFSS has provided state information about health issues such as asthma, diabetes, health care access, alcohol use, hypertension, obesity, cancer screening, nutrition, tobacco use, and many more. The information is used to track health risks, identify emerging problems, prevent disease, and improve treatment.
Each year over 10,850 Maine adult residents are called to participate in the survey. If you are called, your participation is very important.
