Cash Value Benefits (CVB) are adjusted by the USDA Food and Nutrition Administration each federal fiscal year.  Maine WIC does not plan to make any benefit changes until official guidance is provided. The current monthly CVB for fruits and vegetables are:
•    $26 for child participants
•    $47 for pregnant and postpartum participants
•    $52 for fully and partially lactating participants

The technical issue affecting WIC EBT transactions has been resolved. WIC purchases should now process normally at authorized WIC stores and farmers.

WIC Yogurt Changes

Shopping for your WIC yogurts just got easier and healthier! Effective 4/20/2026, WIC yogurts must meet the following requirements:

• Must contain less than 16g of added sugars per 8 oz serving.
• Must contain a minimum of 106 IU (2.67 micrograms) of vitamin D per 1 cup of yogurt.
• Reminder: yogurts packaged in tubes are not WIC approved.

• Infants N/A
• Children 16 quarts
• Pregnant & Partially Breastfeeding 22 quarts
• Postpartum/Nonbreastfeeding 16 quarts
• Fully Breastfeeding 24 quarts

Important Notice: Denied WIC Transactions

If your WIC transaction is denied, please remove milk, yogurt, or juice from your cart and complete your purchase in a separate transaction using your WIC card. Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

During the holiday shopping season, as a reminder for WIC customers,

Shaw’s and Walmart offer both self-checkout and cashier lanes for WIC purchases.
At all other retailers — including Hannaford, Save-A-Lot, and IGA — WIC purchases must be made in a cashier-assisted checkout lane.

Important Notice: Yogurt eWIC Transactions

There is an issue with buying yogurt using your WIC card. Please include Whole and Non-Fat yogurt (if you were issued these products)  with your other WIC food purchase, and then in a separate transaction, purchase your Low-Fat yogurt.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Good news! 🎉 Your Farmers Market benefit is now $30.

• If you already received $20, an extra $10 has been added to your account.
• New participants will now receive the full $30 benefit automatically.
• There’s nothing you need to do — your account has been updated for you.
