The Maine 2024-2029 State Health Improvement Plan (PDF) advances science and health equity and affirms the agency's commitment to one unified vision—a strong, safe, and healthy Maine. The plan leverages 4 key priorities:
- Maine has an inclusive and equitable culture of mental health, resiliency, and well-being for all
- Maine has housing that equitably meets the diverse needs of all
- Maine is a place where all people have equitable access to care that promotes health and well-being
- All people living in Maine thrive in a healing, supportive environment that equitably addresses substance use, from prevention to recovery, and its impacts on individuals, families, and communities
The Maine 2024–2029 SHIP was developed by members of the Maine SHIP Planning Team, comprised of health experts, stakeholders, and residents from throughout the state, and led by the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
The SHIP is a collaborative framework for ensuring all people in Maine have a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health.
