Free Lead Dust Test Kit

Do you live in a home that was built before 1950? And do you have young children, or are you expecting a new baby?

If you answered yes to both these questions, order a free lead dust test kit. This easy test is a great way to find out if you have dust from lead paint in your home. This free kit is different from a swab test you may see in a hardware store or online. It is more reliable and what a lead professional uses.

After you send your test kit back to the lab, you will receive results in about 3 weeks. If the results show unsafe levels of lead dust in your home, our Maine CDC team will reach out and offer technical assistance or an inspection. Funding may be available to help fix the lead hazards in your home. We will help you through that process if you find lead in your home.
