Maine Grocers and Maine Farmers who are authorized by the Maine Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) are referred to as WIC authorized vendors. They are a vital to the WIC Program and help provide nutritious foods to women, infants, and children within their community. We support the consumption of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, and encourage shopping with local WIC authorized farmers.

Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)

The FMNP is a program of the USDA's Food and Nutrition Services WIC Program. The focus of the program is to increase the use of fresh, unprocessed, locally grown fruits and vegetables by WIC participants.

From July 1 to Oct 31 many WIC customers will have FMNP Cash Value Benefits (CVB) to redeem with Maine WIC Authorized Farmers only. The WIC Fruits & Vegetables CVB are redeemable with WIC authorized grocers or WIC authorized farmers.
