The Maine Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) accepts applications from Maine farmers interested in accepting WIC as a form of payment for WIC authorized fruits and vegetables.
In 2020, the Maine WIC Program began issuing electronic benefit transfers (EBT) instead of checks. Our next phase allowed Maine WIC farmers to redeem EBT using a mobile device.
Maine WIC accepts applications from farmers from Jan 1 to March 31 each year.

They are a vital to the WIC Program and help provide nutritious foods to women, infants, and children within their community. We support the consumption of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, and encourage shopping with local WIC authorized farmers.
Getting WIC benefits is simple. Call your nearest WIC office to make an appointment or contact us and a WIC staff member will call you to set up an appointment. Your first appointment will take about an hour and can benefit you and your children for the rest of your lives.
WIC helps keep you and your family healthy. When you first find out you are pregnant, until your child turns five, WIC is there for many families across Maine. WIC provides extra support to you and your family through:
