Water

All public water systems in Maine are required to regularly sample and test their water to ensure that it meets federal and state drinking water standards and is safe to drink. Without proper and timely sampling and testing, the quality of the water being served cannot be ensured.

Testing Private Well Water

Your water looks, smells, and tastes fine, but it may not be safe to drink. Many Maine wells have too much arsenic, uranium, radon, or other harmful chemicals. The only way to know if your water is safe to drink is to test it.
