Bradbury Mountain State Park Conditions & Activities
Location: 528 Hallowell Road, Pownal. Lat 43.899190 / Lon -70.179102
Park Hours: Open all year; 9:00 a.m. to sunset daily unless otherwise posted at the gate. Visitors may continue to enjoy the park during the off season by parking outside the gate, - without blocking it - on the days it is closed, and walking in during these same hours. Please be aware that facilities are closed during the off season. Fee collected year-round at entry booth by staff or self-service station.
Located in Pownal and near Freeport, the park's 800 acres offers year-round trail activities and camping. The park is renown for its challenging trails and locally sponsored mountain biking and running events: "12 Hours of Bradbury" Mt. bike race, the Summer Racing Series for runners and the winter Snowshoe Race Series.The park also hosts the annual springtime Feathers over Freeport.
Bradbury Mt. State Park rated #1 for Mt Biking in the State of Maine in National Listing.
East Side Trails
- Fox East Trail
(1.4 miles) Moderate/Intermediate for all but horseback riding for which it is a difficult/challenging trail. Technical and narrow. - Fox West Trail
(1.2 miles) Moderate/Intermediate for all but horseback riding for which it is a difficult/challenging trail. Technical and narrow. - Ginn Trail
(2.6 miles) Moderate/Intermediate for all but horseback riding for which it is a Challenging/Most Difficult trail. Technical and narrow. - Knight Woods Trail
(1.1 miles) Easy wide trail with a slight grade. - Lanzo Trail
(1.6 miles) Moderate/Intermediate for all but horseback riding for which it is a Challenging/Most Difficult trail. Technical and narrow. - Link Trail
(0.3 mile) Easy flat and wide trail that also serves as a snowmobile connector trail. - "O" Trail
(2.4 miles) Challenging/Most Difficult for all activities. Very challenging tight trail. - Ragan Trail
(0.7 mile) Moderate/Intermediate for all but horseback riding for which it is a Challenging/Most Difficult trail. Technical and narrow. - Snowmobile Trail
(1.5 miles) Easy with some steep grades.
