Maine State Police is investigating the death of a child in Stockton Springs

On Sunday, June 20, 2021, at approximately 2:30 pm the Maine State Police’s Major Crimes Unit was notified about the death of a 3-year-old child.

The child was taken by a family member to Waldo Hospital in Belfast Sunday afternoon where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Monday, June 21, 2021. The cause of death is not being released at this time. Detectives are investigating and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
