A Springvale woman is facing charges after striking a Maine State Police cruiser earlier today.

Maine State Police arrested three persons Saturday in Orrington following a long standoff at a mobile home during the day.  The incident began when a woman visitor to the home reported she had been robbed in the early morning hours.  She left the home and called police.  When troopers arrived at the home at 592 Johnson Mill Rd, none of the occupants would leave the home and the State Police tactical team with negotiators were called to resolve the standoff, which lasted just under 12 hours.

Maine State Police say they are investigating the deaths of a couple from Waterboro as a domestic violence - murder suicide.  The bodies of Christal and Christopher Denis , both 45, were found in their home at 620 New Dam Road just before 8 pm  by York County deputies who had been called to the house by relatives of the couple.  Detectives said Denis shot his wife with a shotgun and then turned the gun on himself.  The two bodies were found in the living room of the house.

Maine State Police and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office are investigating a stabbing and assault that occurred the evening of July 19 in Harrison that left a woman with serious injuries and her son charged with the attack.  The violence took place at the woman's home at 195 Dawes Hill Road around 8 p.m.   Being treated at Maine Medial Center is 49-year-old Halimo Azair for stab wounds. She was flown to the hospital by the LifeFlight helicopter.  She also suffered injuries to the head , arms and face from a splitting maul.

David Mullen was sentenced to 4 years and 4 months in jail, 2 years’ probation and $2,689 restitution for reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and aggravated criminal mischief from an incident on 07-01-18.  Mullen had been throwing large rocks at passing cars, smashing one vehicles windshield.  Cpl. McCleish and Tpr. Hinkley handled this case.

Maine State Police say the driver of a large truck, whose load struck a bridge overpass this morning in South Portland suffered serious injuries.  58-year-old Loel Faulkinham of Auburn is being treated at MMC for multiple injuries, not believed to be life threatening.
