The Field Troops are the uniformed branch of the Maine State Police. The Troopers who work in the field troops patrol all the municipalities in the state of Maine who do not have their own police departments. They enforce criminal and traffic laws through investigation and patrol work. Field Troopers investigate traffic accidents and respond to a wide variety of criminal complaints including domestic violence, burglary, and assault. Troopers also patrol the Interstate System and the Maine Turnpike.
