Troop G Weekly Report 06/28/2021 - 07/04/2021

On 06/28/2021, Tr. Vanadestine received a call of a horse walking on the turnpike at MM 86.  The horse was holding up traffic as it was crossing lanes.  It took several hours to secure the horse onto a trailer and locate the owner.  Sgt. Duda assisted and used a K9 leash to secure the horse.  The trailer belonged to a turnpike maintenance employee.  Horse was returned to owner without incident several hours later.

On 06/29/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped a female driver from South Portland on the ME Turnpike southbound in Scarborough.  Her registration was found to have expired in April 2020 and was listed as Inactive.  She was not charged with a crime but the vehicle was towed.

On 06/30/2021, Tr. Darcy charged Thomas Krupa (25) of Brewer with OAS as the result of a traffic stop northbound on the turnpike in Wells.

On 07/01/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped a male driver from Windham on the ME Turnpike northbound in Kennebunk.  His registration was found to be Suspended for Tolls.  He was not charged and will be following up with the MTA rectify the problem.  The vehicle was towed.

On 07/02/2021, Cpl. Cropper stopped a vehicle speeding southbound in Scarborough. Jacob D. Durgin (32) of Strafford, NH was summonsed for operating without a license and VCR.

Cpl. Cropper stopped a vehicle northbound in Saco for speeding while working a distracted driver detail. Kara Cabana (29) of Sanford was summonsed for OAS.

Cpl. Cropper stopped a vehicle for speeding in a temporary construction zone at Exit 25 northbound in Kennebunk. Daryl K. Hill (66) of Valparaiso, IN was summonsed for operating without a license.
