Troop F Weekly Report 12-21 to 12-27-20


 

Incident Type:         ACCIDENT - MULTI VEHICLE / OUI

Date:                          12/26/2020

Town:                        bridgewater

Trooper:                   Cpl. Quint

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Quint received a traffic complaint involving a vehicle failing to dim its high beam headlights and operating with its turn signal on without turning.  Before the vehicle could be located, it was reported it had struck another vehicle travelling the same direction crashing both cars.  Cpl. Quint arrived at the scene and found no one was injured in the crash.  After further investigation, the man operating the vehicle that initiated the traffic complaint was arrested for OUI.  The man stated he was trying to find the interstate so he could return to his home in Bangor.  He was in Bridgewater which is approximately 20 miles north of Houlton.

 


 

Incident Type:         ACCIDENT / Operating without a license

Town:                        island falls

Trooper:                   Tr. Castonguay

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Castonguay was patrolling in Island Falls when he observed a van that crashed into a ditch.  There was no one with the vehicle when it was found.  After some investigating, Tr. Castonguay located to male juveniles and learned they had taken the vehicle without permission and crashed when backing out of the driveway.  One of the juveniles is on 24/7 house arrest for an unrelated matter.  After speaking with the JCCO, both males were returned to their respective homes and Tr. Castonguay spoke with their parents.  The male that took the van was issued a summons for operating without a license.

Trooper:                   tr. mahon

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Mahon took a criminal mischief report from a subject in New Limerick.  The victim reported someone put a foreign substance in the fuel tank of his trailer truck.  A suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.


 

Incident Type:         BURGLARY

Town:                        Woodland

Trooper:                   cpl. casavant

Brief Synopsis:       Cpl. Casavant responded to burglary at a residence in Woodland.  The owner of the property reported nobody is living at the residence and someone had forced entry into the garage and stole tools.  The investigation is ongoing.

Town:                        Saint john

Trooper:                   tr. curtin

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Curtin stopped a vehicle operating at a high speed in Saint John.  A license check of the operator revealed his license was under suspension.  Tr. Curtin issued the 27-year-old St. Francis man a criminal summons for OAS.
