Troop F Weekly Report 03-16 to 03-22-20

Date:                          3/16/2020

Town:                        new sweden

Trooper:                   Tr. Desrosier

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Desrosier was driving in New Sweden and observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.  Tr. Desrosier determined the vehicle was driving 88 mph in a posted 55 mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the male driver was issued a criminal summons for the violation.

Trooper:                   Tr. Martin

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Martin was called to a residence in Connor Township for a report of a missing juvenile (5-year-old child).  The complainant stated the child wandered from the residence with the family dog and had been missing about fifteen minutes.  The Maine Warden Service was also contacted.  Before Tr. Martin could arrive at the home, the complainant called back stating the child was found unharmed near the residence.

Town:                        Mars Hill

Trooper:                   Tr. Casavant

Brief Synopsis:         Tr. Casavant responded to a rollover crash in Mars Hill.  During the course of his investigation, he learned that the operator of the vehicle was currently under suspension and that the registration plates that were on the vehicle were supposed to be on a different vehicle.  The operator was charged with Operating After Suspension and Attaching False Plates.

Town:                        Houlton

Trooper:                   Tr. Sylvia

Brief Synopsis:       Tr. Sylvia responded to the Houlton Port of Entry when agents reported that a driver had attempted to enter the country with a suspended registration and a suspended driver’s license.  The male subject was also reported to have an extraditable warrant out of California.  Tr. Sylvia arrested the subject and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.  He was charged with the traffic violations and is awaiting arrangements to be made with authorities in California.
