Star Tour and Stargazing at Camden Hills State Park

Division / Program: Parks and Lands

Date: September 24, 2022
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: 280 Belfast Rd. Camden, ME 04843
State Park: Camden Hills
Event Type: Nature Exploration

Join us as we use multiple telescopes to stargaze from the park field. You'll learn to read a star chart, how to identify constellations and stars, how to use the park telescope, and how you can check a telescope out for use at locations throughout Maine. We will share the legends about the stars and hope to be able to observe Saturn and Jupiter with at least three of its moons.

Dress for the weather and meet us in the field to the north of the park's check-in station. Bring, if you have them, binoculars, a red lens flashlight or headlamp, and a folding chair or pad to sit on.

NOTE--this program is best for adults and children 12 years of age or older; all children must be accompanied by an adult.

The program may be canceled due to continuous precipitation or lightning in the area.
