Basic Training
This link will take you to the handouts that are provided at the CACFP Basic Training. This training is for new applicants as well as new staff who will be working with CACFP. New institutions wanting to participate in CACFP must attend the live training and complete an online contract with the State in order to be eligible to participate in CACFP.

Maine Department of Education, Child Nutrition has teamed up with Chef Cricket Azima of The Creative Kitchen to create a video series to assist Maine CACFP Sponsors with ideas for feeding the children in their care.
“Opening Minds”, you will discover creative tips and ideas for getting those “picky eaters” to try and enjoy eating new and different foods.
“Balancing Bellies”, you will learn fun and positive tips for encouraging kids to eat a healthy, balanced diet.
“Food and Allergies”, you will learn about allergies to different foods and tips for keeping children safe while still making them feel included.
“Cultural Cooking”, you will explore the importance of educating and exposing kids to foods from different cultures and learn practical tips for adding cultural ingredients and dishes to your childcare menus.
