Trail Notices

March 17, 2020

ATV trails are CLOSED for Mud Season. Opening dates will vary across the state and depending on the weather, but no one should expect any of the trails to open before May. All signs should have an opening date of May 15th or later. Many will say June 1 because that is what the landowner permits require. Please respect the landowners wishes and obey the closure signs to safe the trail system.

We will open the trails as soon as they are ready but in the meantime we need everyone to stay off until the frost is out, ground is dry, and the landowners say we can go.
Thank You

January 15, 2020

Based on the snowfall forecast from NOAA we have decided to close the Sunrise Trail to ATV use as of end of day today 1/15/2020. Since it is snowmobile season the closure is expected to last until after mud season in the spring.

December 5, 2019

Due to the recent snowstorm, all remaining state ATV trails are now CLOSED for ATV use except for the Downeast Sunrise Trail which is currently open on a day-to-day basis. In addition, most of the club trails are also closed so ATV riding is mostly done for the year. Time to dig out the snowmobiles and make sure they are ready to go! Most areas haven't started grooming yet but the snowpack is fast getting to the point where they will be able to soon. Please obey all closures especially "No Motorized Vehicles Except Snowmobiles" signs. We will be updating the status of the Sunrise Trail as conditions warrant.

Thank you.
