State and Scarborough Police continue to investigate the circumstances of last night's shooting in the Wal-Mart parking lot. 24 year old Ryan Townsend of Saco is in critical condition at Maine Medical Center being treated for a gunshot wound. Investigators say 24 year old Tyler Hish of Scarborough was questioned last night and released. A woman who witnessed the shooting and knows both men also was questioned and she was also released. Investigators and evidence technicians were on the scene until early this morning and will be conducting more interviews today.
State and Scarborough Police are investigating the shooting of man in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Scarborough Friday evening. The wounded man is being treated at Maine Medical Center. Two people are being questioned. The shooting was reported to police about 5:30PM. The victim was shot outside his vehicle and a Scarborough Police Officer, who was inside Wal-Mart at the time, investigating another incident, was at the shooting scene in a couple of minutes, aided by officers from South Portland Police. Investigators are now attempting to determine the circumstances of the shooting.
Morgan Fields, 34, of West Bath, was traveling southbound on US Route 1 in Littleton when she reached for something inside her vehicle causing her to cross the center line and go into the northbound lane in front of a northbound tractor trailer unit driven by Charles Michaud, 58, of Caribou. Michaud swerved to avoid a head on collision.
73rd RTT will be conducting an OUI checkpoint with the SPIDRE Team in the month of February in the greater Waterville area.
