On 09/06/2021, Cpl. Cote stopped Olyvia Heald (19) of Gray on the ME Turnpike southbound in Auburn.  She was charged with Criminal Speed for traveling 101 MPH in the posted 70 MPH zone.

Twelve Maine roadways from Aroostook to York County will soon be dedicated to Maine State Troopers who have died in the line of duty.  

“Our hope is the dedication of these road segments and the memorial markers will serve as reminders to honor our fallen heroes who gave everything they had in service to others.” said Maine State Police Colonel John Cote. “These markers are part of the commitment to our fallen and their surviving families that as an agency and a state, we will never forget their sacrifice.”

On Friday, September 10, 2021, at approximately 3:12 PM, Maine State Police and Maine Warden Service responded to a shots fired complaint at 274 Averill Road in Prentiss.  Two people were shot and received non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to Northern Light EMMC in Bangor.  One victim was treated and released and the other remains at the hospital in stable condition.

On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 8:35 p.m. Maine State Police responded to a single vehicle roll-over on the Oliver Hill Road in Garland.  A 2003 Dodge Durango, driven by 18-year-old Jacob Campbell of Exeter left the roadway and rolled over before striking a tree. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle were transported to Mayo Hospital in Dover with non-life-threatening injuries.  State Police say speed was a factor in the crash and they continue to investigate.

On September 9, 2021, at approximately 1:33 p.m. Renee Bubier (39) of Perry was traveling westbound on Route 9 in Amherst in a heavy rain storm when she lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times. Renee suffered critical injuries and is currently admitted at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Also in the vehicle was Renee’s husband, Ervins Bubier (41). Ervins was pronounced deceased on scene.

On July 22, 2020 the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to 592 North Parish Road in Turner for the report of a two-month infant in medical distress.  Deputies performed CPR and assisted rescue personnel with the child, who was identified as Harper Averill.  The child was brought by ambulance to Maine Medical Center in Portland for treatment.  The infant ultimately died as a result of her injuries.
