A truck hauling hot patch pavement caught fire this morning causing I-295 to be closed while the flames were brought under control.

The Holden Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for 66-year-old Randy Carver, who was last seen at the beginning of the week at his residence at 36 Moon Avenue in Holden. Carver is a white male, 6’00”, 200 lbs., with gray hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing baggy clothes. Carver, who has dementia is believed to be on foot. 

On 04/04/2022, Cpl. Cote stopped Amanda Cook (35) of Sanford on the ME Turnpike southbound at mile 34 in Saco.  Her ME driver’s license was found to be suspended.  She was charged with Operating after Suspension and Possession of a Suspended License.  Her vehicle was towed away.

Det. Larry Rose was recently selected to fill the vacant Crime Lab Sergeants’ position.  Rose joined the State Police in 2000; he was assigned to Troop B where he later became a Field Training Officer (FTO) for several new troopers.

On April 7, 2022, at approximately 11:49 a.m., a wide load was being escorted from South Paris to Lubec. As the vehicle was traveling east on Route 1 and was approaching the Sullivan bridge. There was a van crossing the bridge in the oncoming westbound lane.
