Troop D weekly activities for time August 17th to August 23th, 2020

On 8/17/2020, Tr. Bureau stopped Jacob Levangie-Thompson (25) for falsely attached plates on the Rocky Road in Northport. Upon further investigation, Tr. Bureau learned that Levangie-Thompson also was operating with a suspended license. He was summonsed for both offenses and the vehicle was towed.

On Aug. 17, 2020, Maine State Police in Troop G was notified that a good Samaritan found a lost ring at the Kennebunk Service Plaza located on the Maine Turnpike. 

If you are the owner of the missing ring, please call the Augusta Regional Communications Center at 207-624-7076 x9 and ask to speak with the Troop G supervisor on duty. Be prepared to describe the ring or provide proof of ownership. Thank you. 

Two juvenile males are in custody after leading police on a brief chase in Mars Hill. 

On 08/10/2020, Cpl. Cote stopped Yasir Abdi (20) of Lewiston on the ME Turnpike southbound in Portland.  He was charged with Criminal Speed for traveling 30 MPH over the posted speed limit and nearing a work zone. 

Maine State Police responded to a the report of a single-vehicle rollover crash on the North Rochester Road in Lebanon at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Aug. 19, 2020. During the response, Troopers learned that rescue was performing CPR on the patient. The male driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead shortly after Troopers arrived on scene. The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Police believe he failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle went off the road, striking a stone wall and causing the vehicle to overturn.

Three men from New York are facing drug trafficking charges after they threw baggies of drugs out of the car after being stopped by police.
