A Westbrook Man was arrested for OUI after driving the wrong way on Interstate 295

At approximately 9:20 this morning Maine State Police Troop B received a report of a vehicle going northbound in the southbound travel lane of Interstate 295 in Portland.

Troopers from Troops B, G, the Portland Police Department, and Maine Marine Patrol responded to the area.

On 04/13/2021, while traveling back from Augusta, Tr. Darcy stopped to check on a vehicle in the breakdown lane southbound on I-295 in Brunswick. The female driver was on the phone with 911 trying to get medical help and was stating that she could not breathe. She further stated that she was losing feeling in her left hand and the left side of her face. Tr. Darcy had Augusta RCC start rescue and stayed with the female until she was eventually transported.

A 20-year-old driver escaped serious injury after a crash over the weekend.

On 04/08/2021, Tr. James responded to a tractor trailer roll-over on the Falmouth Spur during the early morning hours. The driver of the truck was transported to Maine Med with minor injuries and said he was unsure of what happened. The trailer was loaded with frozen hash browns and the spur was closed for several hours during the morning commute. Commercial vehicles units also responded to the scene.

Maine’s April storm is bringing rain, snow and poor driving conditions.

On Friday, April 16, 2021, between 5am and 6am, Maine State Police (MSP) responded to three separate crashes on the Turnpike; all due to hydroplaning.

At approximately 10:15 a,.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 a tractor-trailer hauling 88,000 pounds of potatoes was heading southbound on I-95 when the driver swerved and the truck rolled over. It happened at mile marker 94 in Litchfield.
