Maine’s 62 newest police officers graduate from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy Wednesday.  Some of the new officers will begin patrolling this weekend, beefing up Thanksgiving weekend patrols.  The new officers have completed eighteen weeks of study and training at the academy, located in Vassalboro. The new officers studied many topics, including crime scene processing, emergency vehicle operation, first aid, traffic and criminal law, domestic violence and sexual assault.

A crash left one dead and two injured in Canaan. The road was closed for five hours as Troopers investigated the incident.

On 11/10/19 Tr. Plourde stopped Naomi Luce (43) of Whitefield for erratic operation on the Middle Road in Dresden. Naomi was charged with Operating After Suspension. 

State and Brunswick police are investigating a shooting that left one dead in Brunswick.

On Nov. 18, 2019, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Brunswick Police received a 911 call about a shooting on Federal Street. Preliminary investigation indicates that a man who was armed with a handgun broke into an apartment occupied by two people. During a struggle for the weapon, the man who broke into the apartment and another occupant were shot. The subject fled from the apartment and died outside. The other occupant was treated at an area hospital and released.

State Police say that the man who was killed in the shooting in Brunswick is Ali Fisher, 40, of Lisbon.
