Dyer Brook Car Fire
Maine State Police
On August 17, 2024, State Police Houlton responded to a vehicle fire on Interstate 95 in Dyer Brook. Candyce Marsh, 43, of Fort Kent, was driving a 2024 Subaru Forester southbound and struck a deer. After pulling to the side of the roadway, Marsh and her child exited the vehicle. The impact from the crash caused an electrical component to spark and catch the vehicle on fire. In just a few minutes, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. Oakfield Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire, but the vehicle was burned beyond repair. Marsh sustained minor injuries and was treated and released by Paramedics at the scene.
