MSP Traffic Stop in Waldo County Leads to Four Arrests

On Monday evening January 13, 2025, an investigative motor vehicle traffic stop was initiated by the Maine State Police Central Field Troop in Stockton Springs on the Cape Jellison Road. Various tips of illegal firearm activity and stolen property lead to the reasonable suspicion.

The traffic stop produced evidence of potential drug use and drug trafficking. Over 192 grams of an off-white powder was found in the vehicle and a large bag of drug equipment. Charges related to the suspected narcotics are pending lab results.

Troopers were assisted by the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and Searsport Police Department at the traffic stop. The stop immediately led to the arrest of 38-year-old Nicholas Hart and 25-year-old Brittany Saucier who were found to be in violation of their bail conditions. Through the investigation, Troopers developed probable cause to apply for a search warrant, which was granted and executed the following morning on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 27 Cross Lane, residences Hart and Saucier were suspected to be using. The search warrant yielded a 22 Revolver, a 22 Long Rifle, a 30-30 Lever Action Hunting Rifle, and 2 Muzzle loaders. Hart was transferred to Two Bridges Jail and Saucier was transported to the Knox County Jail.  Also discovered during the search warrant was stolen property reportedly valued at $3,000 dollars, which was subsequently returned to its rightful owner.

When securing the residence for the search warrant 33-year-old Tyler Damon was arrested on a Failure to Appear Arrest Warrant. 39-year-old Raymond Pomeroy Jr. who resided at the Cross Lane location was in jail at the time of the search warrant.
