Troop D weekly activities for time January 20th to January 26th, 2020

On 1/15/2020 Tr. Belanger stopped Damien Ward (31) of Stockton Springs on Rt. 139 in Brooks for a loud exhaust. Ward had a suspended driver’s license and bail conditions. Ward was charged with OAS and VCR.

On 1/16/2020 Tr. Belanger arrested Jeremiah Chauvin (42) of Unity on a warrant. Chauvin was also charged with VCR after testing positive for cocaine.

UPDATE: State Police say 21 year old Dylan Ketcham of Gardiner has been arrested and charged with elevated aggravated assault as a result of the investigation that began earlier in the day on Lincoln Avenue in Gardiner.  He is being held at the Kennebec County Jail. Ketcham was arrested this afternoon at the Gardiner Police Dept. where he had been questioned . The names of the two victims are being withheld tonight as police continue to monitor their conditions.  Both men are being treated at Maine Medical in Portland

Vance ThuOn Dec. 23, 2019, Cpl. Diane Vance responded to a serious personal injury accident in Sidney where Emily Thu had lost control of her vehicle and become grievously injured. Passer-by, John Kay, stopped to render assistance and comfort to Emily until help could arrive.

Dutch VestMaine State Police K9 Dutch has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored by Madeline Hamersley of Sorrento, ME and embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Detective Benjamin Campbell, EOW 4/3/19”.
