On 03/22/2021, Sgt. Porter assisted Portland PD with a complaint that a Ford Edge was driving erratically around the Maine Turnpike Authority lot and struck a parked vehicle. The operator of the Ford Edge was identified as Anthony Trottier (20) of Portland. Trottier had driven over one of the islands and over snowbanks, and at one point he fell out of the vehicle onto the ground. Trottier was found to have a BAC level over the legal limit and was arrested for OUI.

At approximately 3:54 pm on Friday, March 26th, the York Police Department received multiple 911 calls for what was reported as a male assaulting a female behind a large rock on the beach.  Upon their arrival, the York Police patrolmen identified the male party in the assault.  York Police detained the male suspect and brought him to the Police Department.  The female party was located deceased behind a rock.  The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit – South was called to assist York Police with the investigation.  

Recently, Cpl. Adam Schmidt was promoted to Sergeant in Troop A at the City Hall in Alfred. Schmidt is a 9-year-veteran of the Maine State Police, who has spent his career in Troop A as a Trooper and was promoted to Corporal in 2019.

Michael Zabarsky from the Computer Crimes Unit was recently promoted to Lieutenant of the State Police Laboratory.  Sgt. Zabarsky is a 20-year veteran who began his career in Troop B before being promoted to Detective for Major Crimes Unit - South in 2004.

George “GJ” Neagle III was recently promoted to Sergeant in Troop D. Cpl. Neagle is a 7-year-veteran who previously served 11 years patrolling with the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office where he attained the rank of Sergeant.
