On 04/13/2020, Tr. Duda responded to a single vehicle roll over crash at mile 19 northbound. The male operator lost control of his vehicle in the rain. The vehicle rolled over into the grassy area near the mile 19 departure ramp and came to rest on the passenger’s side.

On April 14, 2020, Maine State Police Troopers responded to the Tunk Lake Road in Sullivan just after 11:00 pm for a vehicle crash with entrapment. After first responders arrived a passenger in the vehicle, John-Michael Boucar (33) of Sullivan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another subject was transported to the hospital. Trooper’s say that speed is likely a factor. The investigation is still on-going. Anyone with information about the crash please contact the Maine State Police at (207) 973-3700.

State Police say a man was shot and killed this morning in Old Town in an armed confrontation with troopers.  The incident took place outside a home on Bodwell Street on French Island . No police officers were injured. The State Police tactical team and negotiators were called to the home after Old Town Police requested assistance around midnight.  The shooting took place just before 9 AM.   As is the case with every officer involved shooting, the Maine Attorney General's Office will investigate the incident and they have sent a team of investigators to Old Town.

On Monday, April 13, 2020,  at approximately 3 p.m., Troopers from Troop J responded to a report of a burglary in Surry.

Their investigation determined a white Honda Pilot SUV had also been stolen from the scene. Through their
investigation, Troopers developed Thomas A. Powell III, 31, of Old Town as a suspect. A statewide teletype was broadcast with the information on the stolen SUV.

Troop D weekly activities for time April 6th to April 12th, 2020

On 4/6/2020 Tr. Lauren Roddy received a call of a hit and run crash in the parking lot of the IGA in Randolph. The caller followed the offending vehicle back to their residence. Tr. Roddy arrived on scene and discovered the driver of the vehicle, Jennifer Orne (32) of Pittston, did not have a driver’s license. The vehicle struck by Orne had significant damage. Orne was charged with Leaving the Scene of a PD crash, Class E, as well as Operating without a License, Class E.

DallasMaine State Police K9 Dallas received bullet and stab protective vests thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Dallas’ vest was sponsored by a fundraiser hosted by the Waterville Elks Lodge #905 BPOE and embroidered with the sentiment “Gifted by Waterville Elks Lodge #905 BPOE”.

State Police say the death of an Oakland man appears to be accidental. The body of 25 year old Robert Wade was found in his apartment Tuesday night by Oakland Police. They had gone to the apartment at 3 Heath Street after a relative of Wade's had asked police to check on his well being. An autopsy was conducted today at the State Medical Examiner's Office.   Wade's car was located Wednesday afternoon at another location in Oakland.   Police are now seeking information from anyone who had contact with Wade in the past few days as they continue the investigation.
