Health Education Resources

School districts make local decisions about the identification of additional resources that will support teachers and students in their learning and understanding in health education. The Maine Department of Education has compiled the following resources to assist local schools in their efforts and does not endorse any particular program or website. Additional resources will be added periodically.

Educator Resources
  • Advocacy. Tools and resources that support the importance of comprehensive school health education (CSHE) including the connection between health and academic achievement and the importance of health education in developing healthy behaviors and healthier lifestyles.
  • Curriculum Design & Development. Tools to support the design and development of CSHE.
  • 10 Health Education Content Areas. Resources to support the implementation of curriculum, instruction and assessment of CSHE by content area.
