- Museums & Organizations Supporting Social Studies Education. A list of some Maine organizations and museums offering resources for students and teachers.
- National History Day. An annual event for teachers and students in grades 6-12 interested in developing critical-thinking skills and an understanding of the past through original research. Using primary sources, students complete projects (research papers, exhibits, documentaries, websites and performances) and present them at the Maine statewide competition.

- Teacher Leader Webinar Series. Starting in the fall of 2019 teachers who have completed a year of training as part of the DOE Social Studies Teacher Leader Cohort led a series of webinars showing how they have been using the best practices in their own classroom.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Resources will be made available for educators and districts to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by providing classroom materials, curriculum review resources, and ways for educators and students to reflect about their own work.
