Route 201 In Farmingdale To Reopen Ahead Of Schedule

Farmingdale, ME ? Sargent Corporation announced today that Route 201 is reopening ahead of schedule. Crews will allow alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers at the box culvert construction site. The closure to through-traffic had been planned to continue through Thursday night, September 15 but the road will actually have re-opened Tuesday night, September 13, two days ahead of schedule.

Detour Set For I-295 Northbound On-Ramp

FALMOUTH, Maine ? Motorists who utilize the Falmouth Spur northbound from the Maine Turnpike in Westbrook to I-295 in Falmouth will now utilize a short detour in order to access I-295 Northbound in Falmouth.

In order to make the I-295 Northbound Falmouth Spur on-ramp safer, crews will be lengthening the acceleration lane onto I-295 northbound. Crews must close this exit on-ramp while under construction. During construction, motorists will be directed to a ? mile detour to I -295 Northbound that utilizes Route 1 and the Bucknam Road on-ramp.

New Meadows Bridge Over Route 1 In West Bath To Close Friday Until Saturday Evening

WEST BATH, Maine ? The New Meadows Bridge, which carries the New Meadows Road over Route 1 in West Bath will be closed to traffic starting on Friday, September 23 at 3:30 p.m., and then reopening the following day on Saturday, September 24 at 5 p.m.

During the closure, motorists will be directed to a signed detour that utilizes the New Meadows Road, Witch Spring Hill Road and the Old Bath Road.

Rail Crossing Work In Norridgewock Will Close Route 201A For 36 hours

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine ? Motorists who utilize Route 201A and 8 in Norridgewock need to be aware of upcoming rail crossing work that will necessitate a 36-hour road closure that begins Monday, September 26. Vehicles will be directed to a signed detour that utilizes Route 2, Route 201 and the River Road.

Construction on the railroad crossing is set to begin at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26 and is expected to complete by late afternoon on Tuesday, September 27. The railroad crossing is located just south of the Norridgewock Bridge.

Paving On Route 302 In Naples To Conclude Tomorrow

NAPLES, Maine ? Motorists who utilize Route 302 in Naples may experience delays tomorrow as construction crews are finishing paving along a 2,000 foot stretch of road west of the Naples Bay Bridge.

Weather permitting, paving is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. and continue until the afternoon. While paving is underway, traffic will be limited to one-way, alternating traffic regulated by flaggers.

The paving is part of the Naples Bay Bridge replacement project.

Cumberland Street In Westbrook Remains Closed

WESTBROOK, Maine ? The Cumberland Mills Bridge in Westbrook will remain closed through the night and through tomorrow?s morning commute. A detour utilizing Bridge Street and Main Street is in effect.

Crews placed quick-setting concrete and rebar in the repaired area, but the concrete can not yet support vehicle traffic, so a decision was made to keep the bridge closed. A decision on when the bridge will open will be made after the concrete repairs are re-inspected tomorrow (Thursday) morning.

Cumberland Street In Westbrook Closed, Will Reopen By Evening Commute

WESTBROOK, Maine ? MaineDOT maintenance crews have closed the Cumberland Mills Bridge in Westbrook that carries Cumberland Street over the Presumpscot River in order to make repairs to a large pothole that appeared last night.

In order to repair the 2? x 3? pothole, crews are removing the deteriorated concrete surrounding the pothole, then will fill in the area with a quick-setting concrete. MaineDOT crews discovered the pothole at approximately midnight last night, and began repairs to the bridge at approximately 6:00 a.m. this morning.
