Crews will be paving portions of I-95 southbound in Augusta on Friday, June 10, and must close the Exit 109B ramp which carries traffic to Route 202 West towards Winthrop.
The Exit 109B ramp will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday, June 10. Motorists southbound on I-95 in Augusta should utilize Exit 109A or Exit 112 as an alternate route. Variable message boards are in place to alert motorists of the ramp closure.
The paving on Friday is part of the I-95 southbound project that stretches from the Densmore Road in Sidney south nine miles to the Maine Turnpike in Augusta. Crews are removing the deteriorating pavement and then repaving.
Crews are also working on drainage and culvert improvements, guardrail and slope improvement. Pike Industries of Lewiston is the contractor for this $4.1 million project. If there are no unexpected delays, construction should be completed by mid-August.
