Vehicle Reservation Info
  • Reservation requests for Matinicus are made by contacting the Rockland Terminal at 207-596-5400.
  • Reservations to Matinicus may be made up to 3 months in advance and are held at the Rockland Terminal.
  • The schedule is subject to change without notice. Travelers are advised to contact the Rockland terminal office the day before the scheduled trip to confirm the trip is departing as scheduled.
  • For regular passenger vehicles, an exact length of the vehicle to be transported must be provided.
  • For trucks, an exact length and weight of the truck to be transported must be provided. 
  • Be sure to review all information on the Fare Information page.
  • Cash, check or a credit card number must be provided within 7 days of making a reservation, or the reservation will be cancelled.
  • Customers who already have tickets in their possession when making a reservation, should bring/mail them in within 7 days of the request as their form of payment.
  • Once cash, check or credit card is provided, the reservation is considered confirmed.
  • Cancellations may be made up to two weeks prior to departure.
  • For cancellations made more than two weeks prior to departure, or if a departure is cancelled by the Port Captain the day of the scheduled departure, you may do one of the following:
    • transfer the ticket to a future trip
    • pick up the ticket within one year of the original departure date
    • pick up (or request to be mailed) your cash or check, if you are cancelling outright
    • allow the credit card number you put on file to be destroyed (the card will not be charged), if you are cancelling outright
  • If you do not cancel, your reservation will remain in place and your payment will be processed the day of departure.
  • No shows will be charged.
  • Passengers/Vehicles must be in line and ready to board at least 30 minutes prior to loading time.
  • Be informed of the Vehicle waste Disposal Ordinance and ensure that your paperwork is complete before arrival.
