The Department will again be allowing in person attendance at our Bid Openings starting on June 8th, 2022. You can join us in the main conference room at the Augusta Headquarters Building at 16 Child Street (please read instructions posted on the main entrance). The marked receptacle at the main entrance will remain in use for your convenience.
The Department still encourages use of our online bidding system, Bid Express. If you have a paper bid that you are delivering to the MaineDOT office, you can drop it into the marked receptacle at any time of day on any day of the week at the main entrance of the Augusta Headquarters Building. You can also drop it off at the front desk during business hours. Call George Macdougall at 207-624-3353 or 207-624-3000 if you have any questions. Location: Project is located at the corner of Main Street and Depot Street and at the corner of Route 4 and Route 16 in Rangeley, in Franklin County.
Outline of Work: The base bid includes reconstruction of two parking lots, including excavation, tree clearing, installation of parking lot and sidewalk base gravels and surface pavement, granite curbing, and new wayfinding signage, underground conduit and handholes, parking lot striping, loaming and seeding, and other incidental work. Bid alt work includes landscaping and installation of streetscaping items such as bike racks, benches, and trash receptacles, and other incidental work.
Woodland Fish Passage System: This Project partially removes an existing fish ladder and includes construction of a new fish lift with exit flume, attraction water supply system, downstream migrant bypass system, access bridge if awarded, and other incidental work.
There will be an optional Pre-Bid meeting on September 17, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 am Eastern on Microsoft Teams. Bidders wishing to attend this meeting shall contact Sean Ledwin at Sean.M.Ledwin@maine.gov to receive the contact information.
There will be a site visit on September 30, 2025, from 1:00-3:00pm Eastern that is optional for prior attendees and mandatory for new Bidders. See Notice to Contractors for more information.

The scope of work includes reconstruction of sidewalks and pedestrian crossings on Market Square, Main Street, Water Street, and Broadway; also includes bituminous pavement, new granite curb, resetting existing granite curb, stamping/coloring sidewalk segments, some lighting resetting/relocating work, new lighting, catch basin/storm drain installation, concrete work around trees, concrete retaining wall, and other incidental work.
