Public Transit Advisory Council

The Public Transit Advisory Council is a voluntary board established in statute to advise the State Legislature and the Maine Department of Transportation on public transit services in the state. Council members are appointed by the MaineDOT Commissioner and represent a broad range of perspectives. The Council is administered by MaineDOT. By statute, the is charged with reporting to the Legislature in February of each odd-numbered year on current transit services, recommendations and cost estimates for improving service, and progress on implementation of the most recent state transit plan.
