Culvert Rehabilitation In Winslow

Winslow ? Culvert rehabilitation work started on US Route 137 in Winslow Monday, July 16th. Alternating one-way traffic, controlled by flaggers, will assist motorists through the work zone, located approximately one-half mile south of the intersection of Route 137 and Pond Road.

Crews will be installing prefabricated sections to rehabilitate the deteriorated portion. In addition to this work, approximately 200 ft of shoulder on each side of the roadway will be widened and paved to allow for the installation of guardrails.

Casco Bay Bridge Closes Travel Lane Northbound For One Hour

South Portland ? Crews will be closing the travel lane on the Casco Bay Bridge northbound from South Portland into Portland on Thursday, July 19th from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Communications antennas need to be adjusted on the bridge deck, so while traffic will still be able flow northbound, motorists should be aware of the travel lane being closed.

It is anticipated this work will take no longer than one hour.

Marine traffic will not be affected by this work.

Brewer Signal Light Upgrades

Brewer ? Crews will be replacing and upgrading intersection signal lights starting today in Brewer. These signal lights and crosswalk safety improvements will be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The intersections that will be upgraded include:

  • State and North Main Street

  • State and Penobscot Street

  • Wilson and Acme Road

  • State and Wilson Street

  • Wilson and Main Street

  • State and Eastern Avenue

Buxton Culvert Repair Work

Buxton ? On Tuesday, July 24th, MaineDOT crews will be performing culvert repair work on route 117 in Buxton near the Salmon Falls Bridge. This one day event will close this short section of Route 117 between Route 202/Route 4 and the Simpson Road to all through traffic from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Detour signs will help guide motorists to the alternate routes.

Durham Public Meeting on US Route 136

Durham ? MaineDOT will be holding a preliminary public meeting at the Durham Fire and Rescue facility located at 615 Hallowell Road on Tuesday, July 24th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to discuss future road improvements to Route 136. The area affected by June?s heavy rains begins one miles south of Snow Road and extends northerly for two miles.

Representatives of MaineDOT will be in attendance to listen to concerns, receive comments and answer questions from anyone with interest in this project.

Overnight Paving on I-95 in Clinton

Clinton ? Crews will be paving the on and off ramps on Interstate 95 northbound in Clinton from Friday night into Saturday morning on July 27th into the 28th. While the on and off ramps for Exit 138 will be paved between the hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., motorists are asked to use either Exit 133 in Fairfield or Exit 150 in Pittsfield, or to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes.

This paving project, performed by Lane Construction Corporation, is to provide safety improvements as well as long term durability to the riding surface.

North Yarmouth Culvert Repair

North Yarmouth ? Crews will be replacing a large cross culvert on Monday, July 30th on Route 115 in North Yarmouth. The road will be closed for this one day event while work is being done.

Detour signs will help guide motorists away from the area by directing traffic from Route 115 to Depot Hill Road to Route 231, then back to Route 115. The work site will be located just south of Harmony Hall, which is located between the intersections of Mill Road and Route 115, and Haskell Road and Route 115.

Culvert Replacements in Bristol

Bristol ? A culvert replacement will take place on the Harrington Road in Bristol beginning Tuesday, July 31st. This work will be performed approximately one mile southeast of the Carl Bailey Road.

The detour begins at the intersection of Route 130 to Route 129, and ends at the intersection of Route 130/Harrington Road. This culvert replacement is expected to be completed by Thursday, August 2nd.
