MaineDOT News -- Preliminary Work Set To Begin On Bridge In Jefferson

Crews are set to begin preliminary construction on the replacement of the Davis Bridge that carries the Goose Hill Road over Davis Stream in Jefferson.

Road signs alerting motorists to the upcoming closure will be posted starting next week. Preliminary plans call for closing the Davis Bridge on July 14.

Crews will be removing the existing steel and concrete bridge, which is currently posted with a six-ton weight limit, and replacing it with a precast concrete bridge. Crews will also improve the approach area to the bridge.

The Goose Hill Road is expected to be closed to through traffic from July 14 until October 31. Notification of the closure will be posted on Route 126 and the Linscott Road in Jefferson.

Stetson and Watson of Holden is the contractor for the project.
