Visual & Performing Arts Standards Review

Deemed an essential part of every child’s education, participation in the visual and performing arts broadens students’ understanding of the world, contributes to increased school and community engagement, and aids in positive social and emotional development. The current Maine Learning Results (MLR) for the visual and performing arts aim to provide students with a comprehensive arts education, and span four distinct disciplines: dance, music, theatre, and visual art.
