Gray Downtown Revitalization Route 202 / 202-S / Main St.

The Town of Gray has partnered with the Maine Department of Transportation via the Village Partnership Initiative to improve the Gray transportation facilities with the following items in mind:

  • Simpler, cleaner, and better-defined intersection movements
  • Improved, signalized, and shorter pedestrian crossings
  • Safer bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure throughout the Village that meets accessibility and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
  • Signage, signaling, turning lanes, and speed-slowing measures that enhance safety for all legal vehicles
  • An updated stormwater drainage system that improves safety for all Village users and supports existing and planned residential and businesses
  • Reduction of unnecessary intersection legs
  • An enhanced New England village identity

Proposed Schedule

  • Open House - March 4, 2026 
  • Horizontal/Vertical Alignment Complete (HVAC) – January 2027
  • Preliminary Design Report (PDR) – February/March 2028
  • Additional milestone dates TBD
